At the bottom of the price list one can find also gorgeous shaped bags and the best example is as often, what ZARA is doing.

Some beautiful and extremely cheap bags in a material imitating the looks of leather (of course at a close look one sees it, but on the overall for the asked price where is the problem).
I show you some pictures that I took from their site.

Casual and pretty for 50€.

Reminds me of a GIVENCHY bag. Awesome colour. Also around 59€.

And on top of the the list is this leather tote for 120€. Also available in black for the winter and some very nice colours for this summer.

I always have liked the mix of cheap and expensive things to wear. Putting together what you really fancy is the essence of being stylish. Not the price one pays for an item.
With style, you wear a Zara or a Chanel bag the same way.

Till next post.

So chic.

In reality they really look amazing.

First of all I show you a picture of the DELVAUX boutique’s window display in Bruges. I think it is cute, not really new or amazing, just a bit summer feeling.

Since DELVAUX was bought by a large Chinese company, I believe some things have changed and I was very surprised that I saw in a mail from Selfridges that the BRILLANT (Still my favourite one) is sold between the likes of Philip Lim, Mulberry, Givenchy and Alexander Macqueen

I like pretty much the bicoulered ones. And I like the all black in the biggest size. A very chic bag, when weared casually with jeans and tee’s. I show you at the bottom a very bad picture that I took on a rainy day before returning to Brighton. Tant pis for the quality of the image. It’s quite artistic !!!!
Though they are more expensive then the other brands, (the BRILLANT is around 1/3 of the price of a KELLY bag) the BRILLANT is handmade in the DELVAUX ateliers in Brussels.

Thanks for reading and enjoy the beautiful hot summer that we have at the moment.

Another new shop in St, Tropez is VIGNES.

The Atelier Vignes is specialised in exotic leathers and made to measure items. Everything can be chosen in different kind of leather going from alligator to python and galuchat (sharkskin). And their speciality is crocodile (amazing colours)

You can have your belt or your iPad case or any other item made in one of those exclusive leathers and choose the animal skin that you like the most. Real Luxury without Logos. Real Class.

The handles of the basic bags of their collection can be changed in various lengths and colours to be assorted on shoes or clothes. nice idea, because of course the materials are amazing.

I love the plexiglass boxes combined with the leather handles

I’ve spent last week in St. Tropez with my best friend Re. in her marvellous house with views on the bay and the village.

View onto the bay of St. Tropez.

Dolce farniente on the swimming pool and long walks in discovering the new boutiques and what they have to propose.

Christian Dior opened a wonderful shop in a Hotel Particulier and the interior decoration was done by Peter Marino in a Marino style. All in different shades of grey.

A glimpse from the inside. we were constantly accompanied by guards!!! no pictures….

Fendi opened a new boutique and as I was always a big fan of their Peekaboo, Re was getting my attention that the leather quality is not really nice and indeed I really don’t love the grain of the leather they use, so exit of my best seller list.

 Window display at Fendi

Funny bags at Fendi.

It is still not summer and some shops sell already the A/W 2012 collections. At Erthee the almost complete collection of Celine was in the shop and every piece was more beautiful then the other, a simple minimal look with much beautiful, well cut leather garments and thick woollen sweaters and then of course their inimitable, I mean their very imitated range of bags…

here some examples, taken en catimini, Nowhere in the shops one is allowed to take pictures…..but I did.

Dark blue leather and suede. Oh so beautiful

The ERTHEE shop with small LOEWE bags on the shelf.

The Dolce & Gabbana shop. An Ali Babas cavern of beauty.

Dolce & Gabbana Mini Miss Sicily in Raffia and Vietnamese python

Pure beauty.

I love this classic bag made by Italian brand FURLA.

Since it was launched last year, it has been an instant success because of its timeless design and the declination of different materials it is made of. In 2 sizes. And affordable.

Ladies. Run. Drive. Fly to your nearest FURLA shop and if you can’t choose, no problem, Don’t, and buy them… all…

Have a nice and dreamy day, enjoy whatever you are doing.

Reading some magazines I was attracted by bags in straw or rattan which were so fashionable in the 60’s. I remember my mother having this kind of bag.And now for this summer, in the hope we will get one, because it is autumn at this very moment, it is all over us again, in High Street shops as well in the Designer Brand shops.

I show you some examples that I like.

Belgian company Delvaux is coming out of their range of the eternal classic bags with a  variation in fluo lime leather of their most beautiful bag ever. The BRILLANT was created in 1959 and has always been a bestseller in Belgium. It has always been a bit  the poor parent of the Kelly and the Birkin by Hermes, but certainly a bag with the same class.

I was walking through Bruges this morning to get my newspaper in the library on the Grote Markt ( you will see a glimp of the market in the reflection of the window.)and passed by the Delvaux boutique and the colours made my day, It is young, au gout du jour, daring and of course beautifully hand crafted.

Warhol inspired window display.

Colour splashes.

Beautiful red.

Market place in the reflection of the window.

More fluorescent then this you can't get.

I wish you all a very sunny fluo day and let this colour inspire your wardrobe young and old.

It is joyous and in the perfect dosage,a very chic colour.

Thank you for reading this post.

I have always been a fan of beautiful bags and shoes. A woman can wear a jeans, a white t shirt and a blazer then she will always be well dressed. But the accessories are what makes an outfit ,outstanding.

ALWAYS having a good bag and shoes is a must. For me it is preferable to have only one bag, but the top, instead of having 27 bags of medium quality. The same for shoes. better have some Tod’s or Roger Vivier ballerinas  and  some classical pumps instead of having 36 pairs where your feet will not feel comfy in.

So, voila my selection of bags.

Zara. An absolute IT bag.

Hermes Birkin.

Reed Krakoff Boxer II

Bottega Venetta.

Chloe Paraty.

Chloe Marcie

An absolute must have. An instant classic. Affordable for everybody and always chic. These are the leather variants, but in any material, colour or size they are beautiful.
Check the Mary Katzantrou bags for Longchamp.

Louis Vuitton speedy. Good in any size. I prefer them second hand and worn out instead of a new one that takes ages to have a nice patina.

Chanel Reissue 2.55 from 1955.

Zara Shopper Basket. 49,95 euro So chic, affordable, classic and classy. Also in black.

One of my all time favourites. The Bayswater by Mulberry.

Celine: a chic and expensive fantasy. The original one copied by all the high street brands and other.

And last but not least. The must have for summer.

The traditional basket. around 20 euro.

This is a selection of my favourite bags. For more bags and other things I love you can follow me on PINTEREST
