PARIS IN ANTWERP

In Cities, Fashion, I like on 31/10/2013 at 09:16

All the fashionable young French brands are having a shop in Antwerp, and all of them are in the same street.

The Schuttershofstraat, where you will find also the stores as HERMES, BURBERRY, MONCLER, COCODRILLO, DELVAUX AND OTHER.

The ones I am talking about are typical french new wearable fashion.

PORCA MISERIA.

In Designers, I like, Lighting, Uncategorized on 24/10/2013 at 16:52

Don’t be frightened, I know it is a very loved Italian saying and not one of the most polite , but in this case it is the truth. It really expresses what is in the mind.

Can you imagine that one day this should happen

Well one of my favourite light designers did.

It is the name given to the chandelier he designed years ago.

CRI_214610

The little funny story, behind it, is that he named the chandelier” Zabriskie Point” in relation to the famous movie by the Italian director Michelangelo Antonioni where at a given point the hill cliff  villa explodes and one sees the images again and again… beautiful.

When he unveiled his creation, the public screamed ….”PORCA MISERIA ” and surely also MAMMA MIA……….and that is why he renamed it.

My apartment, evolution since begin september.

In Decoration, I like, Interior Architects on 18/10/2013 at 15:44

I love doing homes for my clients, doing it for myself is different, of course because I have a low budget and I want to let my creativity be a base for an ever changing interior.

That is the reason why I choose white as blank canvas in the reception/show room spaces and adjacent my kitchen.

I rent an office space in a building from the 1970’s. It has been empty for over 4 years and was in a dirty, bad state. A lot of cleaning and new floors were the first things to do. Well the cleaning was okee, but it took a month to put the floor. Wooden panels, whom have to be lacquered in white paint. Handyman, who after 3 weeks said to me that painting was not his best skill !!!!!! So we asked a professional and in one day I had the result that I wanted. I had to live as in a cheap camping.. Hated it, but stayed calm and dreamed of how it would become.

I post some pictures of the not yet finished interior, but it should give you an idea of how it evolves.

CHRISTIAN DIOR FALL-WINTER COLLECTION 2013/2014

In Fashion, I like, Paris on 04/07/2013 at 23:58

CHRISTIAN DIOR

DIOR COUTURE 2013/2014

I am a lover of the beautiful and why shouldn’t I be, and why should I be afraid of telling it.

I have the eye to distinguish beauty from something else.. Is it being pretentious… I don’t think so. It is my reality.

Why do I think something is beautiful I don’t know.. Feeling, emotion, loving, attraction……

Sometimes I need some explanation to open my eyes to novelty and that is what happened in the case of Raf Simons for the Christian Dior Haute Couture collection.

My best friend Mimi was invited to see the collection last monday and of course I was interested by what my compatriot was doing for this third Couture collection.. At first glance at the images, I didn’t like… Yesterday I went to see the video of the show on http://www.style.com and was amazed by what I saw and I have been reading the comments of Tim Banks about the show, and indeed with some information I understood what the collection is about and again BRAVO for mister Simons for this new approach on couture..

I am sure that this collection will be worn by woman all over the world who have the panache and personnality to wear these creations in the same way they wear a jeans and a white T..

AVEC STYLE.

I show you some of the pieces I most love.

Thank you for reading this post.

COLLECTIONS OF BROOCHES.

In Collecting, Fashion, I like, Quick tips on 02/10/2012 at 13:23

We are very proud at WWW.COLLECTIONSOF.COM to present you our new idea about collecting.

Brooches are the new items that we propose for sale.

We are making collections and sell them the way we propose them by theme or colour or genre. These small items can easily rejuvenate outfits that need some updating or you could add them on a LBD or on top of buttons on a shirt. Our aim is to make collections that are statements and should be worn on outfits in a non traditional way. They date from the 1930s to the present. Although most of them are from the 1960s to the 1990s. And some of them are Victorian.I show you some examples of collections of brooches that are ready to be worn.

These brooches are for sale at collectionsof. for between 100 and 150 dollar per set.

VERONIQUE BRANQUINHO.

In Fashion, I like, Paris on 26/09/2012 at 10:37

I am not a fashion connoisseur. It is only love at first sight. I have a coup de coeur and I’m in love. Well I am very much fanatic about the superb collection of Veronique Branquinho whom was the first to open Paris Fashion Week and whaouw what a start

I leave to other people to describe the collection. I can only show pictures of what is a collection of rare beauty and simplicity, wearable and super chic. I see much of my friends wearing pieces of this collection, because it is much their personality.

Let’s start with pictures.

VERONIQUE BRANQUINHO.

These clothes are all in simplicity and reminds me of the GUCCI show in Milan. this collection has the same pared down look as found in the couture of the sixties.Only references no copying. Influences by Mme. Grés and ancient Greece in the fluidity of the garments. I don’t know, but it is what jumps into my mind.. I’m lyric about this collection and proud that she is doing so well and again a great Belgian talent on fashion firmament.

To wear armbands on the upper arm can be a bit ordinary but here in this collection it is completely right and even chic especially on top of the white shirt and in fact with all other clothes…. Trendsetting…. I think.

OPTICAL ILLUSION.

In Cities, I like on 26/09/2012 at 09:46

My friend Daphne send me these pictures from when she was at the beach in Scheveningen, near The Hague in Holland.

It looks as the boats are floating in the air above the sea.

The colour of the water fades into the colour of the air and gives the illusion that the horizon is much lower then it actually is..

Disturbing  and surprising.

And no, not photoshopped. 🙂

I wish all of you a productive and dreamy day.
